Our Statement of Faith

The Scriptures

The Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God. In these Testaments we find the complete revelation of God’s will for the salvation of men, and the Divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life (II Tim. 3:16; I Thess. 2:13; II Peter 1:21).

The Godhead

In One God, Creator of all things, Who is infinitely perfect and eternally existent in three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deut. 6:4; John 1:1-3, 14; Phil. 2:6; Acts 5:3-4).

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is true God and true man (John 1:1-3,14; I Tim. 2:5). He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary (Luke 1:35). He died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and is now at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate (I Cor. 15:3-4; Acts 1:9; Heb. 8:1; I John 2:1).

The Fall of Man and Redemption

Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost (Rom. 5:12; 3:23). Only through regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained (Titus 3:5). The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only grounds for justification and salvation (I Peter 1:18-19; Rom. 4:25).

Water Baptism and the Lord's Supper

Water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. However, they are not to be regarded as means of salvation (Matt. 28:19; I Cor. 11:23-26).

The Holy Spirit

The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. During this age, He indwells, guides, instructs and empowers the believer for godly living and service. Every believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit with speaking in tongues as the initial physical evidence (John 16:13-14; I Cor. 6:19; Acts 1:8; 2:4).

Prayer

Every born again, Spirit-filled believer should maintain a consistent prayer life. This should be true both in praying with the understanding and in praying in the Spirit (I Thess. 5:16-18; I Cor. 14:15; Eph. 6:18).

Faith, Healing, and Prosperity

Without faith it is impossible to please God (Heb. 11:6). The redemptive work of Christ provides not only salvation for the believer, but healing and prosperity as well (Isa. 53:4-6; Matt. 8:16-17). We are redeemed from the curse of the law which is poverty, sickness and spiritual death (Gal. 3:13). Our lives will be prosperous and healthy if we will walk in the light of this redemption with faith in God’s Word (III John 2).

Marriage and Sexuality

The Bible recognizes marriage as exclusively the legal union of one man and one woman (Titus 1:6). Therefore, the Church will not recognize, perform, or condone any marriage between individuals of the same gender or between more than one man and one woman. The Bible also teaches that legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. Sexual activities, such as, but not limited to, adultery, fornication, incest, homosexuality, pedophilia and bestiality violate the teachings of the Bible and the Church, and are sinful and incompatible with Christian behavior (I Cor. 6:9-10; Lev. 18:22; Lev. 20:13; Rom. 1:26-27).

The Church

The true Church is composed of all those who are born again. Through this new birth we are united together in the body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the Lord and Head of the Church (I Cor. 12:12-13, 27; Eph. 1:22-23). Every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs (I Cor. 12:28).

The Return of the Lord

In the personal, premillenial and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ (I Cor. 15:51-52; I Thess. 4:15-18). This “Blessed Hope” has a vital bearing on the personal life and service of the believer (Titus 2:11-14).

The Resurrection and Eternal State

In the bodily resurrection of the dead, of the believer to everlasting joy with the Lord and the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting conscious punishment (Rev. 20:4-6, 11-15).
